KIDmob

During my undergrad studies at CCA, I was fortunate to join an emerging non-profit start up called KIDmob.

KIDmob is a mobile design team looking to bring design to kids via various platforms and projects. The first project I worked on was to help the kids from a charter school in Greenville, CA to dream, design, and build a maker space.

The maker space was intended to be a room where the kids could collaborate, make, and creatively explore without restriction. With the resources gathered after post-finals leftovers at  CCA we took our recycled odds and ends, and helped to facilitate a three day intensive program for the kids that would take them through the foundational ideas of design thinking. Starting with research and investigation of their space, needs and environments the kids were able to iterate and ideate around how to define their new space. Then we moved onto fabrication, helping the kids to physically bring the space to life. With our guidance, they were able to refine and define an environment solely of their collaborate vision.

In addition to this project, I have also helped to facilitate other KIDmob projects at Stanford d.School and the Exploratorium, centering around similar ideas of design thinking geared towards middle school age children.
